About Us

My name is Michael. My HVAC experience extends more than 20 years. Over the years I have handled designs, installations, inspections, project management, failure analysis, and cost/energy studies. I have worked as a LEED accredited professional with a background as a mechanical engineer (BS). Being from the south, I understand the importance of a properly designed system to maintain comfortable conditions and keep the energy budget in check. After many years I realized that high quality HVAC was a passion of mine and thought what better way to express that than to share quality home comfort to everyone. With this realization, I founded Relative Heating and Air as a residential HVAC consulting and design company.

Michael Rhodes at Relative Heating and Cooling is a very knowledgeable expert about HVAC systems and their integrated design. I hired Mr. Rhodes to develop an integrated HVAC design plan for the HVAC systems that will be installed in a new home that I am building in New Jersey. As with all phases of new construction, the design of the HVAC systems for a new home is a collaborative process between the homeowner and HVAC expert. Mr. Rhodes will not only be able to explain to you your HVAC equipment options. More significantly, he will be able to determine the relevant heating and cooling loads so that you are able to install the correct systems for the specific heating and cooling needs for your home. Hands down worth using for any new or existing structure for duct design and load calculations. As a busy contractor their services save me time and provide a quality product with a wealth of information to help justify work being done and up sell the customer on better equipment which in turn provides a better end product. I called Relative Heating and Air about a newly installed HVAC system that was not heating and cooling my house efficiently along with other noticeable issues with our ductwork and damper/zone system. Micheal Rhodes, with Relative Heating and Air, provided a detailed report about our issues and a guideline on how the unit should be correctly installed, given the house size, number of rooms, and the number of zones for each unit. I own an architectural service in the metro Phoenix, Az. area and I was in need for this new thing called manual’s S,J & D which I was dumbfounded about. I was highly recommended David to help me out with this difficult resubmittal process. I gave David a call and he spent about an hour going over everything; I was very impressed. He delivered what I need three days earlier than I was expecting and he also spent two more of his own time going over and checking everything for me.
